The Order to Use Them In
- Week 1 — one timed paper, marked honestly, to find your weak section.
- Weeks 2 to 5 — vocabulary and grammar, in small daily amounts.
- Week 6 — a second timed paper, then a full review of every wrong answer.
- Week 7 — listening practice only. It is the section most learners neglect.
- Week 8 — a third timed paper in exam conditions, then rest.
What to Skip
Some resources are worth less than they look.
- Long word lists with no level marker. You cannot tell when you are done.
- Papers from the older HSK 2.0 format. The section structure differs.
- Apps that test recognition only. HSK 3 also asks you to write.
