Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how HSKExam.net uses essential cookies, browser storage, and consent controls. We do not currently use our own advertising or analytics trackers.

1. Essential Session Cookie

The service uses an essential session cookie to keep an authenticated account session secure. In development it is named hsk_session. In production it is named __Host-hsk_session. It is HttpOnly, uses SameSite protection, and is Secure in production. Clearing this cookie signs you out.

2. Browser Storage

Some state is stored temporarily in your browser rather than in a Cookie:

  • hskexam:auth-display:v1 stores whether the navigation should show the signed-in state.
  • Exam draft keys beginning with hskexam:v store in-progress answers so you can resume an unfinished test.
  • hskexam:checkout:pending-plan:v2 stores a selected plan during the account and checkout flow.
  • hskexam:cookie-consent:v1 stores your YouTube consent choice.

Clearing browser storage may remove an unfinished answer draft or reset interface and consent preferences. Submitted test history and learning records are stored on the server.

3. YouTube Consent

Pages with embedded YouTube videos show a placeholder until you allow optional YouTube content. If you allow it, the video iframe is loaded and YouTube may set its own cookies or collect information according to YouTube's policies. If you decline, the video remains blocked and the rest of the page remains available.

4. Creem and Other Third Parties

When Premium payment is enabled and you choose to continue to checkout, Creem may set cookies or use similar technologies on its own checkout pages. Those technologies are controlled by Creem. HSKExam.net does not store complete payment-card details in its own systems.

5. Cookies We Do Not Currently Use

We do not currently run Google Analytics, advertising trackers, behavioral ad profiles, or a separate analytics-cookie system on HSKExam.net. If this changes, we will update this policy and the consent controls before introducing non-essential tracking.

6. How to Manage Storage

You can clear or block cookies and browser storage through your browser settings. Blocking the essential session cookie prevents account login from working. Clearing an exam draft may remove answers that have not yet been submitted. You can change your YouTube choice by clearing the consent entry or choosing “Allow YouTube” in a video placeholder.

7. Security and Updates

We use reasonable security measures for session and browser-state data, but no internet system is completely secure. We may update this policy when storage behavior, third-party services, or legal requirements change.
