HSKExam.net, operated by an independent site operator, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it with service providers, how long we keep it, and how you can make a data request.
1. Who We Are
HSKExam.net provides HSK 1–6 practice tests, vocabulary resources, articles, and learning tools for Chinese learners. For privacy questions or requests, contact contact@hskexam.net.
2. Information We Collect
(1) Account and Authentication Information
- Name and email address
- Email verification status
- Password hash and session information
(2) Learning and Account Activity
- Test attempts, answers, scores, and section results
- Wrong-answer records and review-set information
- Review and mastery information when Premium tools are available to the account
- Account activity and security events
(3) Payment and Membership Information
When Premium payment is enabled, we may store membership dates, plan identifiers, payment status, checkout references, and provider references. Payment-card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored in HSKExam.net's own payment records.
(4) Security and Technical Information
For security and troubleshooting, the service may record access time, request information, a hashed IP identifier, and a shortened user-agent value. We do not use this information to build an advertising profile.
(5) Browser Storage
The browser may temporarily store interface state, in-progress exam answers, and checkout state. Examples include the authentication display preference, exam draft answers, the pending checkout plan, and the Cookie consent choice. Submitted learning records are stored on the server.
(6) Messages and Support Requests
If you contact us, we may collect your email address, message content, attachments, and information needed to respond to your request.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide accounts, tests, dashboards, and learning features
- Save test history and wrong-answer records
- Process Premium access and payment confirmations when enabled
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot errors
- Respond to support and data requests
- Improve content and service reliability
We do not sell personal information and do not currently run our own advertising or analytics trackers.
4. Cookies, Browser Storage, and Consent
HSKExam.net uses an essential session cookie for account authentication. The development cookie is named hsk_session; production uses the host-only cookie __Host-hsk_session. These cookies are used for login sessions and security, not advertising.
Non-essential YouTube content is blocked until you allow it through the Cookie consent control. The essential session cookie remains available because it is required for account functionality.
5. Third-Party Services
When enabled or requested by you, Creem may process payment and checkout information, and YouTube may process information when you allow an embedded video to load. These services operate under their own privacy and Cookie policies. HSKExam.net does not control their independent data practices.
6. Data Retention and Deletion Requests
Account and learning records are kept until you request deletion. Security logs, backups, and records that must be retained for legal, fraud-prevention, or accounting reasons may be kept longer where necessary.
To request access, correction, deletion, or another data action, email contact@hskexam.net. Requests are reviewed and handled manually. We may need to verify account ownership before acting on a request.
7. Children's Privacy
Users who have not reached the minimum digital-service age in their jurisdiction should use the service with appropriate parental or guardian consent. If you believe a minor has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review the request.
8. International Users
HSKExam.net is available to learners in different countries. Information may be processed or stored in a country different from your own. We will handle requests and transfers in accordance with applicable law.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable measures such as HTTPS, access controls, session protections, and security monitoring. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. Privacy Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy when the service, payment arrangements, third-party services, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page.
